Abstract

The satisfaction of health professionals is increasingly recognized as a measure that should be included in quality improvement programs. Low levels of job satisfaction can result in higher turnover and absenteeism, which affects the efficiency of health services. The objective of this paper is to determine the professional satisfaction of radiology technicians in the public and private sector in order to identify some variables that influence the satisfaction of these professionals and to find out if there are differentials in this topic depending on gender, workload, type of schedule and salary. The research question is: “Are there differences between the professional satisfaction of radiology technicians in the public and private sectors?”, in which several hypotheses will be considered. Data collection will be carried out through a questionnaire whose central variables of measurement are the satisfaction and loyalty of radiology technicians, health service management and quality levels. When it comes to the degree of satisfaction in these professionals, the highest level is in those in which the management is public, with no significant gender differences. Those who work 35 hours a week show higher levels of satisfaction, as do those who work shifts compared to those who have fixed schedules. Of these, those who earn more than 1000 euros are more satisfied than those with a lower salary.
