Venografia em cavalos com laminite

Abstract

A venografia digital é um estudo vascular de contraste do dígito do cavalo que permite avaliar, clinicamente, a gravidade das alterações vasculares em casos de laminite ou de outras patologias do casco. É uma ferramenta útil que permite a visualização radiográfica das veias do dígito do cavalo, após injeção de líquido de contraste na veia digital palmar ou plantar, permitindo, assim, avaliar o sistema vascular do mesmo. Esta técnica demonstra a integridade vascular e da pele, ajudando na avaliação da gravidade da lesão, no desenvolvimento de estratégias de tratamento e na sua monitorização. Esta dissertação pretende abordar a técnica de venografia digital e todos os conhecimentos necessários para a sua aplicação na prática, assim como, a apresentação de alguns casos em que foi aplicada a referida técnica. Será, ainda, abordada a anatomia do casco do cavalo e o conceito de laminite, os seus fatores de risco e sinais clínicos e a sua apresentação clínica.
