
There is a risk of cross contamination when using moving and handling equipment in hospitals. Launderable equipment should be designated for single-patient use only and hard surfaces should be cleaned between patient use. Guidelines on the cleaning, decontamination and storage of moving and handling equipment should be made available to all users.
