Abstract

Esta unidade didáctica, Metabolismo dos lípidos, englóbase dentro da materia Bioquímica que se imparte na titulación de Grao en Veterinaria. No plano de estudos, a materia está integrada no módulo de formación básica común, impártese no primeiro semestre do primeiro curso, e ten una carga lectiva de 6 créditos ECTS. Así pois, os destinatarios son alumnos de primeiro curso de veterinaria. A Bioquímica estuda as bases moleculares dos seres vivos, isto é, como son, como interaccionan e a función que teñen as biomoléculas, o que se coñece como bioquímica estrutural, e o conxunto de reaccións mediante as que se sintetizan e degradan, o denominado metabolismo. Como continuación desta materia, no segundo semestre do primeiro curso, impártese outra denominada Integración do metabolismo, e do resto de materias que se imparten no Grao, está especialmente relacionada con: Citoloxía, Fisioloxía Animal, Farmacoloxía, Toxicoloxía, Patoloxía Xeral e Nutrición Animal. Os coñecementos adquiridos en Bioquímica son fundamentais para que o alumno poida entender como é a estrutura dunha célula eucariota, como se organizan as células en tecidos e órganos, a comunicación celular, o funcionamento e regulación dos sistemas corporais, o mecanismo de acción dun fármaco o un tóxico, os resultados dunha análise clínica, a preparación dunha dieta correcta para un animal, a base molecular de moitas enfermidades come é o cancro......, aspectos tratados en ditas materias.
