Inducción de la fijación en moluscos bivalvos. Genes homeobox y su conservación en bivalvos

Abstract

Los problemas de la pesca extractiva en los últimos años han favorecido el crecimiento de la actividad acuícola en el mundo, y particularmente en España. El desarrollo del cultivo de diversas especies de moluscos bivalvos, ha adquirido gran importancia debido a su valor comercial. Entre las dificultades presentadas en su cultivo se encuentra la superación de dos procesos, la fijación y la metamorfosis, siendo ambos críticos para su producción a nivel industrial. El desarrollo larvario y la inducción de la fijación y metamorfosis generan cambios en la expresión de ciertos genes que son necesarios para la regulación del desarrollo, la transformación completa del individuo de su forma larvaria a la forma adulta y, su diferenciación. En el primer capítulo de esta investigación, larvas competentes de Mimachlamys varia y Ostrea edulis fueron inducidas a la fijación a través de la exposición a diversos neurotransmisores en condiciones de laboratorio.
