Riesgo de cáncer de pulmón asociado a las ocupaciones laborales

Abstract

El cáncer de pulmón es el tipo de cáncer que más muertes causa en el mundo. El aumento de casos incidentes debido a causas no relacionadas con el consumo de tabaco pone de manifiesto la importancia del estudio de otros factores de riesgo, como las ocupaciones laborales, y su acción síncrona con otros factores de riesgo. En esta tesis el objetivo se enfoca en el estudio de las ocupaciones laborales como factor de riesgo de cáncer de pulmón, centrándose en factores poco estudiados, como la exposición ocupacional a endotoxinas en relación al cáncer de pulmón de célula pequeña, el efecto sinérgico entre la ocupación y el tabaco, así como entre la ocupación y la exposición a radón residencial. Además, se proponen análisis diferenciados para hombres y mujeres, con especial énfasis en la población femenina; un grupo poblacional a menudo invisibilizado en el estudio de las ocupaciones laborales. La metodología se compone de una revisión sistemática acompañada de metaanálisis en la que se aborda la exposición ocupacional a endotoxinas en el riesgo de cáncer de pulmón de célula pequeña.
