Os estrangeiros residentes em Espanha

Abstract

O artigo aborda a situação actual dos imigrantes em Espanha, a partir dos dados oficiais disponíveis, comentados segundo o seu grau de fiabilidade. Também se faz referência à migração como uma realidade não contabilizada do mesmo modo pelos vários organismos públicos, devido ao fenómeno dos ilegais. Na análise da origem geográfica dos imigrantes, diferenciam-se claramente os estrangeiros do Espaço Económico Europeu, por apresentarem um perfil sócio-demográfico completamente distinto. Destacam-se, também, a sua desigual distribuição por Comunidades Autónomas e a situação profissional. Os contratos laborais por idade e sexo, nacionalidade e nível de rendimento são depois abordados, de forma a fazer uma apresentação geral deste tema de indubitável interesse.
