Abstract

INTRODUCCIÓN: El deterioro cognitivo leve (DCL) representa un deterioro cognitivo que constituye un factor de riesgo de demencia. A pesar de los avances farmacológicos, no existen tratamientos efectivos para retrasar o revertir el deterioro cognitivo, en particular de DCL. Se considera que mecanismos inflamatorios y el estrés oxidativo involucrados en la etiología del deterioro cognitivo y la demencia, indican un papel potencial de la nutrición en su prevención. OBJETIVOS: General Analizar la relación entre nutrición y DCL. Específicos 1)Identificar tipos de dieta que prevengan el DCL. 2) Conocer el grado de adherencia a la dieta en pacientes. 3) Conocer los componentes de la dieta con potencial efecto neuroprotector. MÉTODOS: Revisión sistemática tipo PRISMA-2020. Bases de datos: PubMed, Clinical Trials, Cochrane Library, Scielo, NICE, etc. Intervalo de búsqueda: entre 2019 y 2023. RESULTADOS: Se encontraron 154 artículos, tras eliminar los duplicadosy aplicar los criterios GRADE y PRSIMA se incluyeron 13 (9 ECAs, 2 metanalisis, 2 revisión sistemática). Se identificaron 3 patrones dietéticos: dieta mediterránea (DM), Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension (DASH), dieta Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay (MIND). A todos ellos se les atribuye efecto neuroprotector que es atribuido al efecto antioxidante y antiinflmatorio de sus componentes. CONCLUSIONES: Los diferentes métodos de puntuación para los patrones dietéticos, el método de encuesta dietética, el área de estudio, el tiempo de seguimiento y el tamaño de la muestra pueden ser las principales fuentes de heterogeneidad. MED y DASH se asociaron con un riesgo reducido de DCL.Una mayor adherencia a MD, DASH y MIND se asoció con un menor riesgo de trastornos cognitivos. El efecto neuroprotector de las dietas MD, DASH y MIND se atribuye a su efecto antioxidante, antiinflamatorio y neuroprotector directo. Las dietas neuroprotectoras podrían ser una herramienta terapeútica no farmacológica en el DCL.
