Abstract

O solo é un recurso non renovable que debemos conservar para garantir o noso futuro. Esta capa superficial da Terra é a responsable da supervivencia do ser humano, pero non lle prestamos a importancia que merece. Neste traballo preténdese poñer en valor o solo como un patrimonio non recuperable ou de difícil recuperación. As súas propiedades físicas e físico-químicas poden verse alteradas polos incendios forestais. Dende hai séculos empregouse o lume para ampliar zonas de cultivo, pero as queimas reiteradas alteran estes ecosistemas. Coa falta de vexetación, os solos vense afectados pola erosión ou a escorrentía superficial. A maiores, a perda de materia orgánica ou a repelencia á auga dificultan a recuperación do solo. Para coñecer mellor a incidencia dos lumes analizáronse dúas secuencias edafo-sedimentarias localizadas na Serra do Barbanza (A Coruña), unha delas nunha zona afectada por queimas recorrentes. Realizándose diversos procedementos físico-químicos para mostrar con datos obxectivos cales son as súas consecuencias. Os incendios son un fenómeno natural que se converteu nun factor antrópico, e debemos coñecer a súa incidencia nos solos para así poder conservalos dunha forma máis efectiva.
