Consumo y Uso de Medios de Comunicación de jóvenes universitarios ecuatorianos en tiempos de convergencia, 2015

Abstract

Esta tesis doctoral es el complemento a una tesis de maestría del año 2011 en donde se había planteado abrir una nueva línea de investigación en el Ecuador sobre los estudios culturales, de recepción y de medios. Es una radiografía al consumo cultural y cómo accedieron a él los estudiantes universitarios del Ecuador del año 2015. Las emisiones de los medios de comunicación han sido analizadas desde las organizaciones gubernamentales y agencias de publicidad, así como la medición de audiencias que manejan estas empresas para enfocar sus estrategias y hacer sugerencias a sus clientes. También se estudiaron 26 universidades del Ecuador con muestras representativas de cada universidad, dentro de un grupo objetivo de jóvenes entre 18 y 25 años considerados como los Millennials –que marcan tendencias de consumo importantes y son un punto de referencia a la hora de tomar decisiones en todos los contextos de la sociedad-. A este grupo objeto de estudio se le aplicó un cuestionario de consumo mediático y consumo cultural logrando 8.483 encuestas.
