Abstract

A lo largo de este trabajo se han identificado cinco nuevos taxones bacterianos. Dos de ellos miembros del género Vibrio, una especie del género Lacinutrix y dos pertenecientes al género Marinomonas. Además, se analizaron los genomas de tres posibles nuevas especies del género Psychrobacter con interés potencial en biorremediación. En esta Memoria también se incluye la primera identificación de Vibrio toranzoniae, descrita en este trabajo, asociada a mortalidades de peces y se demuestra el potencial patógeno de los aislados de V. toranzoniae procedentes de Chile. El análisis genómico comparativo realizado entre la cepa tipo de la especie y un representante de los aislados chilenos mostró las diferencias en los factores de virulencia que permiten explicar este comportamiento. El estudio de los mecanismos de persistencia en el ambiente de esta especie en condiciones adversas demostró que estas cepas siguen estrategias diferentes. la cepa tipo sobrevive durante estas condiciones entrando en el estado viable no cultivable y la cepa chilena es capaz de tolerar estas limitaciones y mantener intacta la capacidad para crecer en los medios de cultivo.
