Métodos no destructivos de estimación de la densidad de la madera

Abstract

El presente estudio científico-tecnológico muestra el desarrollo de un nuevo método no destructivo de estimación de la densidad in situ de piezas de madera y su comparación con métodos actuales. El dispositivo desarrollado (“Extractor de virutas”) permite extraer y almacenar las virutas resultantes del taladrado para posteriormente estimar la densidad de la madera, su humedad y detectar daños de origen biótico. El estudio recoge el proceso de evolución y optimización del dispositivo y los ensayos realizados en probetas de 10 especies de madera utilizadas en construcción. El nuevo dispositivo y método de estimación de la densidad local ha demostrado su utilidad y conveniencia, ya que permite además, estimar la humedad de la pieza ensayada (R2 = 0,86), así como la densidad corregida al 12% H (R2 = 0,99) y detectar e identificar patologías de origen biótico.
