Precisión diagnóstica de la sangre oculta en heces inmunológica cuantitativa en el cribado de cáncer colorrectal

Abstract

El cribado mediante el test químico de sangre oculta en heces anual o bianual ha demostrado que reduce la incidencia y mortalidad por cáncer colorrectal (CCR) en la población de riesgo medio (personas asintomáticas > 50 años de edad, sin historia familiar de la enfermedad). Además, un estudio multicéntrico español , demostró que el test de sangre oculta en heces inmunológica (SOHi) fue mejor aceptado en esta población que la colonoscopia y con una eficacia similar a esta para detectar CCR. Una reciente publicación compara la eficacia de ambas técnicas en la detección de neoplasia avanzada (NA) en individuos con familiares de primer grado (FPG) con CCR, observando que la SOHi repetida anualmente durante 3 años detecta todos los CCR y demuestra su equivalencia con la colonoscopia para la detección de NA en FPG con CCR.
