Abstract

This research analyzes the beliefs of students of STS subjects (Science, Technology and Society) about innovations in university teaching, to justify that these are an indicator of the effectiveness of a change in teaching. The sample consisted of 235 students from the University of Seville who had received classes from professors participating in the Teacher Training and Teaching Innovation Program (FIDOP) during the 2020/2021 academic year. The C-RENOVES questionnaire, in its third version, was used as a data collection instrument with 20 items related to 3 categories (treatment of the contents, teaching methodology and evaluation), which, after certain modifications with respect to its previous version, obtained appropriate validation indices. The evaluation category shows great progress with respect to the change in teaching. In general, the results extracted from the students' conceptions show evidence that there is progress in student-centered teaching and learning, but not yet reaching the ideal reference level.
