Abstract

Trabajo Fin de Máster Propio en Prevención, Recuperación y Readaptación Funcional de Lesiones Físico-Deportivas (2014/15). Tutor: Dr. Fidel Hita Contreras.

Physical and functional postoperative incidences are of great importance after major breast surgery (MBS). The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of a preoperative physical exercise program and its positive effects on reducing physical and psychological complications in the postoperative phase, as well as on reducing the period of functional rehabilitation. In order to design a physical training plan to improve the balance and muscle strength of the scapular-humeral joint, a multidisciplinary preoperative study of the patient was done by means of diagnostic imaging tests, photometric and functional assessment of the scapular-humeral joint. The increase in musculoskeletal tone showed a positive association with mobility, bone health, psychological well-being and quality of life in general, and those patients with high levels of muscular strength tend to have fewer functional limitations, an important aspect in the reeducation of the Spine.
