Abstract

Trabajo Fin de Máster Propio en Escultura Barroca Española (2013/14). Director/Tutor: Vicente Méndez Hernán. Tradicionalmente se han considerado como obras de Pedro de Ávila, el Cristo atado a la columna y el Ecce Homo de los retablos colaterales de la capilla de la Virgen de las Angustias de Valladolid. El presente estudio hace un breve recorrido de la vida, la formación y el estilo de uno de los escultores más destacables de la escultura barroca castellana del siglo XVIII. Al mismo tiempo, se relacionarán las dos imágenes cristíferas con otras de similar iconografía ejecutadas por Ávila, y con algunas imágenes de escultores coetáneos.
