Abstract

Trabajo de Curso de Experto Universitario en Medicina de Urgencias y Emergencias (2013). Tutor: Andrés Buforn Galiana. La warfarina y el acenocumarol en nuestro medio han sido el tratamiento habitual para la profilaxis del ictus. Hasta el momento actual han mostrado una eficacia notable y una seguridad razonable, con una relación beneficio/riesgo favorable. La aparición de los nuevos fármacos ha supuesto una auténtica revolución de la prevención tromboembólica en la fibrilación auricular no valvular. Su eficacia es al menos similar a la warfarina pero más seguros especialmente en la incidencia de hemorragia intracerebral. Sin embargo la situación socioeconómica actual y las características de cada paciente añaden otros factores a considerar a la hora de valorar el tratamiento más adecuado.
