El dolor abdominal agudo

Abstract

Trabajo de Curso de Experto Universitario en Medicina de Urgencias y Emergencias (2013).Tutor: José Manuel Vergara Olivares. El dolor abdominal agudo es uno de los síntomas que con mas frecuencia acude el paciente a Urgencias. Supone un reto diagnóstico por su variabilidad etiológica y posible riesgo vital para el paciente. La mayoría de los trastornos son intraabdominales, pero también puede ser la manifestación de afecciones localizadas fuera de la cavidad abdominal (causas torácicas, genitourinarias, raquídeas, farmacológicas o endocrino-metabólicas). El diagnóstico del paciente con dolor abdominal agudo se basa en una detallada anamnesis: que incluya antecedentes familiares y personales, factores que agravan o mejoran el dolor, localización del dolor y resto síntomas acompañantes, una exploración física completa y el uso racional de pruebas complementarias en función de la sospecha clínica. Considerar aquellas situaciones especiales como: embarazadas, anciano y paciente oncólogico que pueden presentar formas atípicas de dolor abdominal agudo y actuar de forma adecuada.
