Recursos naturales etnobiológicos de la Sierra de Tamaulipas (Estado de Tamaulipas, México)

Abstract

Trabajo fin de Máster dirigido por Rafael Cámara Artigas y tutora Ana Quílez Guerrero. Con la finalidad de conocer la transmisión generacional de los conocimientos ancestrales y el uso de especies nativas, se aplicaron 66 encuestas etnobotánicas y se realizaron 34 entrevistas etnozoológicas entre los habitantes de la Sierra de Tamaulipas. Se determinó si el uso de los recursos es adecuado o se explota de forma que afecta a la conservación y regeneración de los mismos. Se registraron 49 familias de plantas con 97 especies y 11 familias de animales con 18 especies útiles. De las plantas, 35 familias y 57 especies (58,7%) son medicinales; 23 familias y 33 especies (34 %) son alimenticias y 15 familias con 26 especies (26,8 %) se usan como material de construcción para cercos, vivienda o carboneo (algunas especies son utilizadas para varios propósitos, de ahí que sumen más de 100 %). De los animales, todos nativos, 10 familias son de vertebrados; 5 de mamíferos y 5 de aves y 1 de insectos; 5 especies de mamiferos y 9 de aves son cazados por su carne, 3 son capturadas para la venta ilegal como aves de ornato y 1 especie de hormiga es medicinal. De las especies registradas, Litsea glauscesens (laurel), Crax rubra (Hocofaisán), Aratinga holochlora (Cotorrina verde), Amazona oratrix (Loro cabeza amarilla) y Amazona viridigenralis (Cotorra cabeza roja), se encuentran protegidas por la Norma Oficial Mexicana NOM-059-ECOL-1994. Los recursos etnobiológicos en esta región son diversos, aunque el conocimiento y uso de estos se está perdiendo en las nuevas generaciones.
