Arquitectura tradicional en Los Urrutias

Abstract

Debido al significativo desarrollo urbanístico experimentado durante los periodos de bonanza económica, en los cuales la construcción se ha disparado de forma exacerbada en el entorno del Mar Menor, se corre el peligro de la perdida de la identidad cultural de las poblaciones y núcleos urbanos de la zona. Afortunadamente, aún se conservan interesantes ejemplos de la arquitectura tradicional del Mar Menor, constituyendo la localidad costera de Los Urrutias una de las pocas playas en las que todavía perdura el sabor añejo de tiempos pasados. En su paseo marítimo es fácil apreciar el contraste que se produce cuando junto a una casa tradicional se erige una de reciente construcción, cuya arquitectura se caracteriza por tinte impersonal y desligado completamente del entorno, provocando una pérdida de identidad y también un choque con la estética tradicional de la zona. Con este proyecto se pretende realizar una aproximación a la arquitectura tradicional del Mar Menor y su concreción en la localidad de los Urrutias -una de las menos estudiadas del lugar-, profundizando también en el contexto histórico, social y humano como factores determinantes para su caracterización.
