Abstract

[ENG]he paper analyze s if the Phillips curve is present in the Spanish economy during the economic crisis of 2008 , analyzing for this the relationship between the unemployment rate and the inflation rate during the period from 1986 to 2018. A theoretical revision of the Phillip s curve is carried out and then an empirical exercise and applied by statistical and econometri c techniques to estimate different models based on the traditional approach of the Phillips curve, to verify the existence of this in that period and s pecificall y during the crisis of 2008. The results of the empirical analysis show, during the whole period studied, this negative relationship between the unemployment rate and the inflation rate on which the traditional approach is based. Likewise, it is observed t hat during the crisis of 2008 this negative relationship is accentuated even mor e.
