Abstract

[ESP]El presente Trabajo Fin de Máster trabajo hace referencia al desarrollo y a la gestión del fenómeno turístico , especialmente refiriéndose a Cartagena (España), ciudad donde en la última década ha sido posible notar un fuerte crecimiento de esta industria. El objetivo de la investigación es llevar a cabo un análisis territorial para la aplicación del Cuadro de Mando Integral, con el intento de proponer una herramienta de gestión útil para la formulación de planes turísticos sostenibles aplicados en el desti no de Cartagena (ES) . Se adopta un enfoque estratégico para identificar las fortalezas y debilidades locales y, en consecuencia, proponer acciones que potencialmente podrían mejorar la reputación y la notoriedad del destino. En resumen, este documento sigue un recorrido lógico que en primer lugar pasa por analizar territorialmente el destino de Cartagena, tratando de encontrar los recursos turísticos distintivos y más representativo del destino y de la Región de Murcia, consid erando que el producto turístico contemplado en este documento no está geográficamente limitado a las fronteras municipales, sino que se hace referencia a los posibles atractivos que se encuentran en todo el alrededor. Se sigue con la revisión de la biblio grafía relevante sobre la gestión del destino y de la herramienta aplicada en el caso de estudio. En conclusión, se exponen algunas recomendaciones de carácter critico - analítico, exaltando la importancia del turismo urbano, así como los límites del estudio y posibles extensiones de la herramienta aplicada en el destino. [ENG]The research discusses about tourism phenomena development and management , especially referring to Cartagena (Spain), a city where , during the last ten years , was possible to observe a fast growth in tourism industry numbers. The methodology adopted is a literature review on tourism management topic, based on territorial resources and tourism supply chain management analysis, for the Balanced Scorecard application on the considered destination, using a strategical and analytical perspective, trough a territorial SWOT analysis. The ai m of the investigation is to provide a useful tool for policy makers and tourism institutions, to control the results and so, implement the actions for a more efficient and sustainable territorial management. Furthermore, in this document, the territory is considered as a geographical extended product, composed by a large variety of enterprises and tourism resources . Therefore, its functioning, depends on components interaction. In conclusion, some recommendation about tourism resources management will be g iven, in particular referring about the importance of urban tourism development in cities; as well there will be presented the limits and possible extension of the study.
