This work aims to study the problem of sovereign debt. Spain has seen its debt has increased dramatically since the beginning of the crisis, back in 2007, reaching the 90% of GDP. Debt and crisis got feedback: the deficit generated by the crisis it is financing with more debt and this, in turn, it is a burden that increases the recovery period. In this analysis, we review the five major crises throughout history in order to analyze measures to overcome the debt crisis Even so, the problem is not only in the numbers. One of the major factors hampering recovery is the lack of confidence in our financial system. This problem is usually one of the biggest challenges for the political class, so in the following pages we will analyze policy measures and strategies implemented by governments during the five biggest crisis in world history.
