Enseñando tecnologías: biodiesel a partir de aceites usados

Abstract

En la enseñanza de las Ciencias, tanto a nivel Universitario como en Secundaria, el medio ambiente es un tema de gran importancia que siempre despierta un gran interés en los alumnos. Los problemas medioambientales son consecuencia entre otros del elevado consumo de combustibles fósiles, que generan altas emisiones de CO2 y amenazan con el cambio climático. Ante estos problemas, las nuevas tecnologías destinadas a la producción de biocombustibles surgen como una necesidad para contribuir al desarrollo sostenible del planeta. El biodiesel producido a partir de grasas residuales vegetales o animales reúne en un mismo proceso el tratamiento y eliminación de un residuo difícil de degradar y su reciclado para obtener un bien de uso y consumo, el biodiesel. Éste se va a utilizar como combustible ecológico ya que no incrementa el CO2 neto en su combustión.
