[ENG] Since 2008, the Spanish mortgage market has suffered a negative evolution due, firstly, to the enormous crisis of 2008 and more recently caused by the crises caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine. In 2020 the real estate market was moderately affected, as we can see in the data there is no growth compared to 2019, with a reduction in prices. However, the COVID-19 crisis has not affected the real estate market in the same way as the 2008 crisis, thanks to the fact that financial institutions were in good financial health. Thanks to this, the real estate market has continued to grow in 2021 and 2022. This paper analyzes in detail, using descriptive statistical techniques, the data briefly discussed in this introduction on the evolution of the mortgage market (number of mortgages and their amount) in the period 2003-2022 in Spain and the Region of Murcia. In addition, the relationship between this evolution and that of other macroeconomic magnitudes is analyzed.
