Abstract

El rostro humano aporta con su aspecto y forma una serie de pistas que permiten extraer información sobre la identidad de la persona, su sexo, su edad, su etnia, su salud, su estado emocional y su bienestar físico, por nombrar sólo algunos. El reconocimiento facial tiene un papel fundamental en los sistemas biométricos y resulta atractivo para numerosas aplicaciones, como la vigilancia visual y la seguridad, las imágenes médicas y la informática afectiva. El trabajo en identificación facial debe enfrentarse a algunas limitaciones como la iluminación exterior, la variación de la pose con grandes ángulos de rotación, la baja calidad de la imagen, la baja resolución, la oclusión o los cambios de fondo en escenas complejas de la vida real. Además, deben realizarse pruebas y verificaciones rigurosas en conjuntos de datos suficientemente amplios y variados. Es objetivo de este Trabajo Fin de Estudios acercar al estudiante a la inteligencia artificial, en particular al uso de algoritmos de machine learning para el reconocimiento facial. Se estudiarán las tecnologías empleadas y se llevará a cabo un caso práctico de uso.
