Riesgos emergentes: nanomateriales

Abstract

[ENG]The current report is an updated version of the information available on nanomaterials and their relationship with the prevention of occupational and emerging risks, that is, how the handling, use and manufacture of this type of substance could influence the health of workers and in job security. As well as, a development and classification of the types of nanometric-scale materials that are currently used and exploited in the different sectors is carried out, incorporating preventive and control measures based on the precautionary principle, this would include organizational measures, evaluation methods, use of PPE, etc. On the other hand, the scant information that is currently available on repercussion they generate on occupational health requires the introduction of training and information concepts that expose appropriate work strategies for the treatment of nanomaterials. Therefore, it is important that they be knowledgeable personnel of the potential risks their face with this type of material. For now, nanotechnological development does not have specific legislation, nor has it established Professional Limit Values (PLV) that provide basic information to technicians. However, the qualitative and quantitative methods that are currently available and accepted for the assessment of exposure by nanoparticles are presented
