Abstract

A obturação do sistema de canais radiculares, é uma das etapas mais importantes do tratamento endodôntico sendo a finalidade desta, obturar de maneira homogênea, tridimensional e compacta todo o sistema de canais radiculares. O objetivo desta revisão narrativa é apresentar técnicas de obturação termoplástica que são utilizadas, identificando as suas vantagens e desvantagens. A metodologia consistiu numa pesquisa efetuada nas bases de dados Pubmed, Medline, Scielo e Google Académico, com recurso às seguintes palavras-chave: “System B®”, “Obturadores revestidos de guta-percha” “Obturação”, “Tècnica da onda contínua de calor”, “Thermafil®”, “Guta-percha termoplástica”, “GuttaCore®”, “GuttaFusion®” Apesar da existência de diferentes técnicas de obturação, verificou-se que não existe uma técnica que garante uma obturação tridimensionalmente completa do sistema de canais radiculares sem haver espaços vazios, sendo que é necessário mais estudos clínicos de longa duração.
