Abstract

No de correr dos anos, principalmente após estudos de Bell sobre revascularização de maxila, as técnicas cirúrgicas de Osteotomia Le Fort I tem sido utilizadas em maiores proporções. Além de melhorar a estética, função e a dicção, ela altera também a relação maxilo- mandibular. É uma técnica valiosa para o acesso à base do crânio e região central da face. Uma complicação rara, mas significante é a hemorragia trans ou pós-operatória. O local mais comum da ocorrência de eventos hemorrágicos é a parte posterior da maxila, e o vaso mais envolvido é a artéria palatina descendente. O objetivo dessa Revisão Bibliográfica Narrativa é trazer um melhor entendimento da técnica cirúrgica e dos principais eventos vasculares que possam ocorrer no trans e pós-operatório. Podendo assim o cirurgião se antecipar e prevenir possíveis complicações que resultem por vezes em hemorragias ou inadequada perfusão maxilar.
