Amamentação natural em crianças portadoras de fenda lábio palatina

Abstract

O principal objetivo desta revisão bibliográfica é analisar a amamentação natural em lactentes portadores de fenda lábio palatina e as dificuldades que esta anomalia craniofacial acarreta neste processo, abordando também, as técnicas preconizadas para as minorar e alcançar um maior sucesso. A metodologia utilizada baseou-se numa pesquisa bibliográfica em motores de busca e base de dados científicas, usando as seguintes palavras-chave: ”cleft lip and palate”; ”breastfeeding”; “children”; “experience”; “feeding behaviour”; “associated problems” e posterior seleção dos artigos de revisão narrativa e sistemática, guidelines, estudos observacionais e ensaios clínicos, com conteúdo relevante para o assunto em estudo. Os recém-nascidos com fenda lábio palatina têm dificuldades acrescidas no processo de amamentação. São inúmeros os benefícios da amamentação, tanto para a mãe como para o bebé, descritos na literatura, porém, nem sempre há sucesso neste processo. Atualmente, considera-se unanimemente que a amamentação natural deve ser a primeira escolha para a nutrição dos bebés com fenda, porém, na sua impossibilidade, são propostas algumas alternativas para fornecer o leite materno, não existindo, contudo, total consenso quanto à melhor opção.
