Mordida aberta esquelética vs mordida aberta dentária: abordagem terapêutica

Abstract

A fim de fazer uma abordagem para opções de tratamento ortodônticos da mordida aberta descrita recentemente, foi realizada uma revisão da literatura científica publicada no período de 2010-2018, disponível em sites de subscrição arbitrado e indexado, revistas científicas com acesso gratuito como: ScienceDirect pesquisadores, World Wide Ciência, SciencieResearch, Medline, Springer link Cochrane, Scielo e Dialnet, selecionadas de acordo com os critérios de inclusão-exclusão atribuídas. A partir das experiências revisadas, concluiu-se que, controlar os hábitos e a eliminação das anomalias funcionais da musculatura perioral, suplementadas com terapia miofascial, são medidas geralmente adequadas para combater o problema das anomalias dentoalveolares como a mordida aberta. Por enquanto, para mordida aberta esquelética, é possível redirecionar o crescimento durante o período de desenvolvimento ativo e, depois disso, um tratamento compensatório baseado em movimentos ortodônticos com ou sem cenário de cirurgia, onde os avanços tecnológicos trouxeram novos recursos biomecânicos que fornecem alternativa confiável possível e eficaz, a fim de melhorar as probabilidades de sucesso e consequente satisfação e bem-estar do paciente.
