Reposicionamento de implantes osteointegrados com osteotomia segmentar

Abstract

The loss of a tooth can occur for various reasons, among the most frequent are caries and periodontal disease, resulting in functional, nutritional, aesthetic and emotional changes. The replacement of the lost tooth should be well planned, either the rehabilitation happens with removable prosthesis, fixed prosthesis or implants. When the implant are inserted incorrectly and other compensation solutions do not permit a satisfactory aesthetic rehabilitation, removal of the implant is a valid assumption however lead to loss of bone and frequently the necessity of subsequent graft. Another possibility of treatment that prevents bone loss is the repositioning of the implant with osteotomies and miniplates or custom-made devices anchored to the bone or associated with a distractor osteogenic device. The bibliographic review of this work aimed to explore alternative treatment for removal of the implants, and thereby prevent bone loss which is already present in several patients.
