Medicamentos manipulados pediátricos: desenvolvimento de formulações de ranitidina e clindamicina

Abstract

In pediatrics are administered inappropriate drugs to pediatric needs, are prescribed outside the approved uses in its authorization the market, some have not been tested or approved for pediatrics use. The pharmaceutical industry has not bet on medicines for children due to low incidence and prevalence of specific pediatric diseases; to the small number in relative terms, of pediatric patients using certain medicines that the existence of several sub-populations hinders the recovery costs of research studies and development; the technical difficulties in some cases, hinder the achievement of liquid medications for oral administration with validity periods sufficiently extended, consistent with preparation scale industrial, distribution and marketing. This study aimed to help primary for the development of formulations suitable for pediatric, enabling access to a variety of dosage forms, doses and formulations with excipients suitable, safe and effective for the age of the pediatric patient. This work aimed to formulate tablets with gelatin, using methodology easily applicable in hospital pharmacy or community and the study of their characteristics pharmacotechnical. Drugs were hydrochloride ranitidine and to clindamycin.
