Comportamento incendiário

Abstract

Through reviewing a multitude of literature regarding the theme of crime and fire agents, this project sought to develop general objectives, knowledge, causes and motivations that lead an individual to commit arson. Throughout the project content was developed both relevant and appropriate to the topic under study: conceptual issues, psychological characteristics, behavioural and geo-law - the arsonist criminal, investigation and causes of fire, basic tools and the relationship, or not, between the arsonist and pyromania. The main objective of this project sought to compare the relationship between literature and the data collected through document analysis. Through document analysis this study concludes that fires have their highest occurrence during the afternoon and are practiced during the weekdays, along roads/dirt roads. Regarding the time of crime, earlier studies by several researchers are corroborated, as most of the fires are set between noon and 4 pm.
