Abstract

Introdução: A cimentação adesiva é um procedimento crítico que envolve não só a aplicação do sistema adesivo e do agente de cimentação, mas também a colocação da restauração indireta. Os cimentos resinosos são materiais recomendados na cimentação adesiva, considerando as suas propriedades físicas, mecânicas e clínicas. Normalmente apresentam uma baixa viscosidade e, consequentemente, uma maior fluidez, permitindo assim uma espessura adequada. Nos últimos anos, as técnicas de termo-modificação têm sido utilizadas para reduzir a viscosidade da resina composta, melhorando a fluidez da resina, de forma a facilitar a sua utilização como agentes de cimentação. Objetivo: Esta revisão integrativa teve como objetivo aprofundar conhecimentos sobre a técnica de cimentação adesiva, assim como, colocar em evidência dois sistemas de cimentação enquanto opção de tratamento reabilitador, comparando-os a fim de verificar qual o sistema de cimentação mais resistente a forças de tração. Metodologia: A pesquisa bibliográfica foi realizada nas bases de dados PubMed e ScienceDirect, recorrendo a palavras-chave em múltiplas combinações e focando em estudos de tipologia “in vitro” publicados entre 2015 e 2025. Os artigos foram selecionados de acordo com critérios de inclusão e exclusão previamente determinados. Cinco estudos “in vitro” foram selecionados para uma análise comparativa detalhada. Com este trabalho pretendeu-se responder à seguinte questão: “Existem diferenças na resistência a forças de tração entre cimentos de resina comparativamente a resinas pré-aquecidas quando aplicados na cimentação adesiva de restaurações indiretas?” Resultados: Os estudos analisados sugerem que resinas compostas pré-aquecidas tendem a apresentar maior resistência a forças de tração comparativamente aos cimentos resinosos, desde que sejam utilizados com protocolos adesivos adequados. Conclusão: A escolha do agente de cimentação deve considerar a situação clínica específica, o tipo de restauração, a translucidez do material restaurador, e o domínio da técnica pelo profissional.

Introduction: Adhesive cementation is a critical procedure that involves not only the application of the adhesive system and the luting agent, but also the placement of the indirect restoration. Resin cements are recommended materials for use in adhesive cementation, considering their physical, mechanical and clinical properties. They usually have a low viscosity and, consequently, greater fluidity, thus allowing adequate film thickness. In recent years, thermomodification techniques have been used to reduce the viscosity of the composite resin, apparently improving the fluidity of the resin, in order to facilitate their use as luting agents. Objective: This integrative review aimed to deepen knowledge about the adhesive cementation technique, as well as to highlight two cementation systems as a rehabilitation treatment option, comparing them in order to verify which cementation system is more resistant to tensile bond strength. Methodology: The bibliographic search was carried out in the PubMed and ScienceDirect databases, using keywords in multiple combinations and focusing on “in vitro” studies published between 2015 and 2025. The articles were selected according to previously determined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Five “in vitro” studies were selected for detailed comparative analysis. The aim of this study was to answer the following question: “Are there differences in tensile bond stength between preheated resins compared to resin cements when applied in the adhesive cementation of indirect restorations?” Results: The studies analyzed suggest that heated composite resins tend to present greater tensile bond strength than resin cements, as long as they are used with appropriate adhesive protocols. Conclusion: The choice of cementation system should consider the specific clinical situation, the type of restoration, the translucency of the restorative material, and the professional's mastery of the technique.
