Abstract

Introdução e Objetivo: Este estudo, dirigido a um grupo de cidadãos adultos de Lamego, tem como utilidade compreender o nível dos Conhecimentos de um grupo de cidadãos de Lamego em relação aos Comportamentos de Risco para a Saúde. Metodologia: Estudo Quantitativo Descritivo-Exploratório, realizado através de um questionário, autoaplicado a uma amostra por conveniência, de 35 cidadãos de Lamego, com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e os 65 anos, presentes nas organizações/instituições previamente selecionadas, na presença da investigadora. Resultados: O estudo analisou diversos aspetos relativos aos conhecimentos e comportamentos de um grupo de cidadãos de Lamego em relação aos riscos para a saúde. Observou-se que a maioria dos participantes tem um conhecimento e comportamento adequado sobre o padrão de sono. No que diz respeito à alimentação, a maioria pratica uma alimentação saudável, mas ainda há um consumo considerável de alimentos de risco. Os participantes demonstraram ter conhecimentos sobre práticas sexuais de risco, os malefícios do consumo de álcool e tabaco, e a importância da atividade física. No entanto, apesar de demonstrarem ter conhecimentos, alguns comportamentos ainda são preocupantes. Conclusão: Através da realização do estudo, foi possível concluir que o grupo de cidadãos de Lamego, apesar de demonstrarem alguma literacia em relação ao problema de investigação, existem ainda alguns comportamentos preocupantes, que devem ser analisados, de modo a definir novas estratégias para os evitar.

Background and Objective: This study, aimed at the adult citizens of Lamego, aims to understand the level of knowledge of the citizens of Lamego in relation to Health Risk Behaviors. Methodology: Quantitative Descriptive-Exploratory study, carried out using a questionnaire, self-applied to a convenience sample of 35 citizens from Lamego, aged between 18 and 65, present at the previously selected organizations/institutions, in the presence of the researcher. Results: The study analyzed various aspects of the knowledge and behavior of Lamego's citizens in relation to health risks. It was observed that the majority of participants have adequate knowledge and behavior regarding their sleep pattern. With regard to diet, the majority eat a healthy diet, but there is still a significant consumption of risky foods. The participants demonstrated knowledge about risky sexual practices, the harm of alcohol and tobacco consumption, and the importance of physical activity. However, despite their knowledge, some behaviors are still worrying. Conclusion: Through the study, it was possible to conclude that although the citizens of Lamego demonstrate some literacy in relation to the subject studied, there are still some worrying behaviors, which should be analyzed and look for strategies to avoid them.
