Potencial antimicrobiano dos canabinóides

Abstract

No cenário de combate à resistência bacteriana aos antibióticos, muitas substâncias têm sido investigadas quanto à sua potencial atividade antibacteriana, incluindo substâncias provenientes de produtos naturais. Os canabinóides têm sido associados a múltiplas e potenciais atividades biológicas, com destaque para as suas propriedades ansiolíticas e antipsicóticas, anti-inflamatórias, analgésicas, antioxidantes e neuroprotetoras. Estes compostos poderão ser utilizados no tratamento de infeções microbianas, potenciando o efeito dos fármacos normalmente utilizados. A investigação relativamente ao potencial antimicrobiano dos canabinóides forneceu conhecimentos importantes sobre a sua eficácia contra microrganismos resistentes a medicamentos, embora o seu uso seja controverso. No entanto, ainda é necessário realizar mais pesquisas e estudos clínicos para fundamentar a sua aplicação terapêutica. Desta forma, neste trabalho, foi possível verificar que os canabinóides apresentam potencial antimicrobiano contra alguns microrganismos e também que o uso de canabinóides conjugados com tratamentos convencionais pode conduzir a um efeito sinérgico.
