Abstract

Cimentos seladores são usados para preencher tridimensionalmente o sistema de canais radiculares, sendo, portanto, essencial que estes materiais tenham uma excelente capacidade de selamento e resistência à infiltração bacteriana. Entre os estudos na literatura, existem discrepâncias relativamente aos resultados sobre a capacidade de selamento e infiltração dos diferentes cimentos. Uma vez que os cimentos à base de silicato epóxi e tricálcio são diferentes na sua composição e propriedades biológicas, decidiu-se fazer a seguinte pergunta de investigação: qual destes dois cimentos endodônticos tem a melhor capacidade de selamento, utilizando modelos in vitro de infiltração bacteriana? Foi realizada uma pesquisa através Pubmed, Scopus e Web of Science relacionada com a pergunta de investigação da qual resultaram 9 artigos. A maioria dos resultados das avaliações, destes estudos, mostrou uma maior resistência à microinfiltração para os cimentos à base de resina epóxi.
