Eficácia da laserterapia no tratamento da epicondilite

Abstract

Resumo: A epicondilite lateral é uma desordem comum, entre a população adulta, de foro musculo-esquelético, que limita e condiciona a qualidade de vida dos pacientes. O laser é uma modalidade electrofísica utilizada na prática clinica, em Fisioterapia. Apesar do cepticismo adjacente aos beneficios da laserterapia, estudos recentes demonstram que a radiação laser com baixas doses de energia, é capaz de promover efeitos biológicos significativos. Objectivos: Entender a eficácia da laserterpia no tratamento da epicondilite lateral, após a análise da informação encontrada nos vários estudos. Métodos: Foi elaborada uma pesquisa nas bases de dados B-on e Pubmed, entre os anos 2000 e 2010, com a finalidade de encontrar artigos de revisão bibliográfica e experimentais, sobre os benefícios da laserterapia na epicondilite. Conclusão: Os resultados são controversos, existindo estudos que suportam a eficácia desta modalidade no tratamento da epicondilite, bem como outros que refutam os benefícios do laser nesta patologia. Parece não existir uniformidade nos parâmetros da radiação laser a adoptar pelos diversos autores estudados.
