A fadiga na esclerose múltipla

Abstract

Resumo: A fadiga é um estado de exaustão, de fraqueza física, é um sintoma inespecífico, comum e incapacitante em doentes com Esclerose Múltipla (EM). A EM é uma doença crónica, incapacitante e de carácter imprevisível. A sua progressão acarreta problemas físicos, psíquicos e sociais. Foram avaliados 30 pacientes com EM quanto à presença de fadiga. A Escala Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy (FAMS) e o questionário sócio-demográfico foram aplicados em todos os pacientes. Na FAMS o score é baixo indicando a presença de fadiga. Não foi observada relação da fadiga com a variável sexo, mas foi encontrada correlação entre a fadiga e a idade, tempo de doença e indivíduos que trabalham.
