Os efeitos da terapia biofeedback no bruxismo do sono através da eletromiografia

Abstract

Objetivo: Verificar os efeitos da terapia biofeedback (BF) em pacientes com bruxismo do sono através da eletromiografia. Metodologia: Pesquisa computadorizada nas bases de dados Pubmed/Medline, Science Direct, PEDro, Lilacs, Scielo e Cochrane Library foi efetuada usando a combinação: biofeedback thearapy AND sleep bruxism AND eletromyography de acordo com guias de PRISMA. A qualidade metodológica dos estudos foi analisada usando a Physiotherapy Evidence Data base scoring scale (PEDro). Resultados: Seis estudos cumpriram os critérios de inclusão e obtiveram uma média aritmética de 6,5/10 na escala de PEDro, com um total de 175 participantes. Os estudos selecionados incluíram diferentes formas de utilizar a técnica BF e foram encontrados resultados estatisticamente significativos através da eletromiografia. Conclusão: Os resultados mostraram que a técnica de BF pode contribuir para a reabilitação de indivíduos com bruxismo do sono.
