Pulpotomia e pulpotomia parcial em dentes permanentes: alternativas ao tratamento endodôntico não cirúrgico – revisão narrativa

Abstract

O objetivo desta dissertação é realizar uma revisão bibliográfica narrativa sobre a pulpotomia e pulpotomia parcial, apresentar os seus protocolos, vantagens e indicações. Como objetivo secundário pretende-se, também, abordar os novos materiais disponíveis para a realização destas terapias e suas contribuições na prática clínica. Foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica em diferentes bases de dados eletrónicas de pesquisa, nomeadamente: B-on, Pubmed, Researchgate e Science direct. Foram incluídos artigos completos sobre o assunto, revisões e estudos com seres humanos em inglês, português e francês. Os artigos relevantes para a revisão foram escolhidos pelo autor de acordo com aqueles que obedeciam aos critérios de inclusão estabelecidos. Concluiu-se que a pulpotomia e a pulpotomia parcial são vantajosas, em alguns casos, porque mantêm a vitalidade pulpar, numa lógica de terapia minimamente invasiva. No entanto, não devem substituir o Tratamento Endodôntico Não Cirúrgico, que é o tratamento mais indicado em muitas situações clínicas.
