Anterior plagiocefhaly in characterized by flattening of fronto-orbital region. Two are the types of plagiocephaly: the deformational one and the synostotic one. The former is extremely frequent (5-8% of newborn)and clears up spontaneously or simply by changing sleeping position in most patients. the letter-synostotic plagiocephaly - is quite rare (1 oer 10.000 newborns) and woesen as time pass with negative influence on facial growth. Consequentely synostotic plagiocephaly must undergo early surgery, before one of year of life, in order to estabilish good cranial symmetry and correct facial growth.
