The book investigates the development of the modern and contemporary Arabic poetry since the beginning of the XX century up today. It's divided into two sections. The first part, after preliminary terminological and methodological condierations, examines the poetic trends and debates. The second part presents the evolution of the contemporary poetry in the different Arab Countries since the forties.
