The aim of this contribution is to highlight the need for teacher training in general, although we will focus on the training of foreign language teachers and of CLIL teachers (teachers who teach a discipline in a foreign language) since this is the target audience to which the ANILS association has mainly addressed itself. There is an increasing demand for teachers to have specific competencies that can be achieved through initial and in-progress training that is dynamic and lasts the entire professional career. After highlighting what these skills are, we will present some training activities that ANILS has proposed.
