Da Siena a Bologna: filosofia e filoginia in volgare in un codice del medio Cinquecento

Abstract

Il presente contributo si concentra su due inediti cinquecenteschi in volgare: un compendio di gnoseologia aristotelica e un commento filosofico a nove stanze di Claudio Tolomei (De la beltà che Dio larga possiede). Di questi testi, entrambi adespoti, vergati dalla stessa mano e trasmessi da un manoscritto conservato all’Archivio di Stato di Bologna (ASBo, MC, s. IV, 13/73), si offre un’edizione in Appendice. La ricostruzione che accompagna questo repêchage ambisce a gettare nuova luce sulle relazioni fra Siena e Bologna intorno alla metà del XVI secolo, approfondendo il ruolo del centro culturale felsineo nel promuovere un’operazione di sintesi fra neoplatonismo ficiniano e aristotelismo, con dichiarati intenti filogini.
