La Zona Transversal de Peñarrubia-Almargen (Béticas): tectónica transpresiva tardía y segmentación del relieve

Abstract

En las Béticas Occidentales, la Zona Transversal de Peñarrubia-Almargen (ZTPA) separa la Zona de Cizalla del Torcal (ZCT) de un dominio suroccidental con diferente estilo y orientación estructural. La propia ZTPA es una banda transpresiva oblicua a ambos dominios y sus directrices estructurales están definidas por pliegues y fallas inversas dextrasWNW-ESE. La ZTPA está formada por dos segmentos en escalón conectados por un puente compresivo. El control de la ZPTA sobre la segmentación del relieve y la edad de las rocas involucradas indican una edad de la deformación Mioceno Superior-Actual. La localización de la ZTPA podría relacionarse con una discontinuidad mecánica preexistente en la cobertera profunda o el basamento, pero podría explicarse también como una evolución hacia una banda transpresiva de splays en la terminación de la ZCT por la eventual rotación del far-field vector
