Abstract

En el Edificio Antiguo Inferior de La Gomera afloran dos enjambres de diques máficos con diferentes geometrías: el primero formado por diques tendidos, y uno posterior de diques verticales radiales. Esto implica un cambio en el campo de esfuerzos durante el crecimiento del volcán. Para evaluar la influencia del sistema magmático en este cambio, se han estimado mediante termobarometría en clinopiroxenos las condiciones de temperatura y presión de cristalización de los magmas de ambos enjambres. Para ello se ha realizado el estudio petrográfico de 23 muestras y el análisis químico mineral en 16. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que todos los diques proceden de magmas cristalizados a profundidades muy similares, posiblemente en el Manto superior. Por tanto, el cambio en el campo de esfuerzos del volcán que reflejan los dos enjambres de diques podría deberse al crecimiento del propio volcán, descartándose la influencia de una cámara magmática somera
