Evaluación de técnicas de procesado de datos geoquímicos en sedimentos marinos analizados con un Itrax Core Scanner

Abstract

Los escáneres de FRX, tal como el Itrax Core Scanner, se han convertido en una herramienta habitual para el análisis de testigos de sedimentos, ya que proporcionan de forma rápida datos geoquímicos y de propiedades físicas con una elevada resolución. Sin embargo, no se ha establecido un protocolo habitual común para el procesado de esos datos, que en función del tubo de rayos-X seleccionado podrían proporcionar datos con mucho ruido para los elementos ligeros. En este trabajo se ha analizado el testigo PC7-1 que fue recogido en la zona de transición entre el Banco Galicia y la Cuenca Interior de Galicia. Los datos obtenidos se procesaron con diferentes metodologías y compararon con muestras discretas analizadas mediante ICP-MS. Se recomienda la reevaluación de los datos con el programa Q-Spec 6.5.2, así como su suavizado con medias móviles ya que mejoran la calidad de los perfiles de los elementos ligeros y las correlaciones con muestras discretas
