The SIELAE group’s new database (IBSO), accessible on the Internet http://www.bidiso.es/IBSO, collects and makes available to researchers the result of several types of works, usually scattered, about inventories and libraries in the XVIth and XVIIth Centuries (exceptionally XVIIIth Century), providing, in addition, expert knowledge in bibliography and philology to complement this information, usually incomplete in the inventories. Through its four sections (Inventories, Works and editions of Golden Age authors, Ideal libraries and Hypothetical libraries), IBSO has capacity to hold a great quantity of information, that properly crossed, answers many questions for researchers and those who carries out Golden Age’s editions or who works on the printed book culture, the reading history, the use of sources, the printing history, the transfer of knowledge or publishing history.
